This year for Halloween not only did the kids get to go to the Trunk or Treat at the ward house, they also got to go to their cousins house in Daybreak and trick-or-treat around their neighborhood and acquired a doughnut at the doughnut house.

But not only that… later that night we went to their other cousins house in West Jordan and ate chili, home made bread sticks (THANKS Jason!) and ate more candy!!! What a fun night that was for all of us.  We are still recovering from the sugar rush.

Well, lets face it.  I’m not good at keeping a blog but I do like to update it when I get a chance.  So, since it has almost been a year I thought that I should write something.  I have been keeping up with Facebook, probably because I don’t have to type to much.  Facebook.com has become an addiction for me, but I love finding people and staying in touch with people that I haven’t seen in 20 years.  So maybe, this addiction of trying to keep up with friends will give me more of a desire to blog… or maybe not.

Since the last time I wrote..  I lost 40 pounds, celebrated many family birthdays, took several golfing trips, our family went to our condo in Midway, Utah, had a couple mini reunions with high school friends, Andrew broke his elbow, I got a new job, the boys started school, Melissa’s bow business has taken off, and I finally updated this blog.  Wow what an exciting life. :)

Let’s see how long it takes me to update this time.

In the first part of December we decided to enter Sariah into a Hawaiian Tropic pageant. It was a very snowy day and we were almost late because we went to our ward Christmas breakfast earlier that morning. We had to take our time driving to the Hollywood Connection and we got there just in time to sign Sariah up.

Sariah had to walk up on the stage with Melissa and smile at the judges. She had to go up twice and she did a great job waving at the crowd, mostly because we, her family, were in the crowd calling her name. She gave us all a great big smile. There were a total of 13 girls there her age and in the end Sariah was voted as one of the top 5. She received a trophy and her first tiara. She is our cute little princess.

For this Halloween Joseph was Darth Vader, Christian was Jango Fett, Andrew was the Shadow Power Ranger and Sariah was a little lamb. AHHH cute. We went to my work and the kids scored! Then we all went over to the trunk or treat at the church and their bags were almost overloaded. We went home and I gave out candy while the kids went around to some friends houses. Then we had Dad come over and he forgot to tell us that my brother Jason’s family was coming over so we were surprised by their visit, it was fun though, the boys love playing with their cousins.

For Thanksgiving we had thanksgiving at out house and Melissa’s side of the family came over. Before that, of course, I had to go to the annual Turkey Ball game with my friends from high school. Luckily I didn’t hurt my back this time playing basketball and I might have lost a pound or two in preparation for the big feast.

I didn’t wake early this year for the annual black Friday march but I did get out at about 8:30 am to get a good deal on some pants for the boys.

Joseph and Christian had their annual Christmas piano recital and they both did very good. It was fun hearing our boys play Christmas music. Now if they can memorize the songs we can always have a song to sing around the organ.

Then after the recital we were all going to head to Winder Dairy for scones and hot chocolate but Magah offered to make it all at her house. Mmmmm it was good!

Well, on May 4th 2007 I finally graduated from college with a Bachelors degree in Information Systems. It has taken me quite some time and it has given Melissa quite a headache having me gone for so long. But I finally did it and I am very relieved!

And then our youngest son Andrew graduated from preschool and he even performed with his class. Andrew was stunning as chip the teacup from Beauty and the Beast.

Here is Christian dressed up like Spider man and Joseph dressed up like Superman:

Then on Memorial weekend we went to our condo and just had fun relaxing, swimming and hiking. Here are the kids having fun… oh and us too. There are hotpots in Heber near our condo so we went on a hike to search them out and learn about them:

Then yesterday we had our family over to watch the West Fest fireworks in our backyard.

If the rest of the summer is like this we are going to have a fun time!

Yesterday was the annual Trunk-or-Treat event at our church parking lot. Everyone opens up the back of their vehicles to deliver candy to the young trick-or-treaters. It was a blast, the weather was clear and it was a little cold but we had a great time. Joseph dressed up as Superman, we even sprayed his hair black. Christian was dressed up as the green Mystic Force Power Ranger. Andrew was dressed up as the red Bionicle warrior and our little girl was stuffed into an oversized winter coat, she looked very cute as a big baby. In that coat there was no way she was going to be able to put her arms down. I had to have a costume, according to my boys but the only thing I decided on was the ‘Nacho Libre’ mask from the DVD I bought from Best Buy, so I wore that. I was Nacho for the night and it was fun. We stopped by Papa Murphy’s Pizza and bought a Jack-O-Lantern pizza and the boys each received a little sampling of cookie dough to cook because they came in the store with their costumes on. After words Melissa took the kids to her mother’s neighborhood to do some MORE trick-or-treating… CRAZY!
Me… I stayed home!

July 24th in Utah is state holiday where we celebrate the entering of the pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley. Well, it is also a tradition for the annual pioneer day parade. It is where many, out of their mind, families travel up to 200 east the day before the parade and camp out for the parade in their favorite spot. I happen to be one of those crazy individuals and I had to take work off just so I could get my favorite spot under the tree. This year however, my wife is not available to take my kids up to the parade route. So I went up reserved a spot with my blanket and then went home to get the kids. I did not go to sleep though because I knew that if I went to sleep I would not get up in time. (I have issues with waking up early.) So, I stayed up until the clock hit 4:30AM and then woke up my boys to go up with me. Yes, I woke up my 3 boys and drug them out of bed to the parade route. We had a fun time until the two youngest started hurting each other. I told them to be good or they wouldn’t get slurpees. (Bribery usually works. :) ) It was a pretty good day and we ended it by going to see the movie “Cars” and eating KFC. Not a bad day… but I’m still tired.
